Privacy policy
This policy explains what Recipes By Ninjas collects when you use this site.
What we collect
- Favorites. When you tap a name under "Who likes this?", that choice is stored on our server so it syncs between devices. It is not linked to an email or account.
- Preferences. Your cookie choice and offline favorites are stored in your browser (local storage).
- Email. If you join the newsletter we store your email address with our email provider to send it. Unsubscribe any time from any email.
- Analytics. If enabled and you consent, we use privacy-friendly analytics to count visits and clicks. No data is sold.
- Advertising. If ads are enabled and you consent, our ad partner may use cookies to show and measure ads.
- Purchases. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card details; we keep an order record so you can re-download.
Accounts
- What we store. Your email (to sign you in), your household (name, size, which Ninja machines you have), and for each person you add: first name, diet, allergies, foods they don't like, goals, meal types and cooking time. We also store favorites, a "we made this" log, and your email settings.
- Why. Only to personalize recipe ideas: skip allergies and dislikes, show your machines, and not repeat what you cooked in the last two weeks. Allergy answers are used as filters, not as medical information, and are never shared or sold.
- Where. Accounts run on Supabase (database and sign-in). Each household can only read its own rows (row-level security). If you sign in with Google we receive your email address only.
- Tonight by Ninjas emails. Off unless you tick the box, and only daily or weekly at the time you pick. We record when you gave or withdrew permission. Emails are sent through Resend, include a one-click unsubscribe link, and we keep a log of which recipes we sent so ideas rotate.
- Deleting. "Delete my account" on your account page permanently removes your sign-in, household, people, favorites, history and settings right away.
"What are we making?" assistant
When you ask for ideas, your meal choice, the chips you tapped and what you typed are sent to our server. If you are signed in, your household's allergies, dislikes and recent meals are used to filter the recipe list. To write the suggestions we may send your request and a shortlist of our recipes to Anthropic (Claude). We don't send your name or email, and Anthropic does not use API data to train its models. To limit use per visitor we count requests by account or by a one-way hash of your IP address, kept for one day. Don't type anything private into the box.
