📏 Fix
Scaling a 16 oz Creami recipe to the 24 oz Deluxe pint
Multiply everything by 1.5, then fill only to the max line. Spices, extracts, salt and stabilizers like xanthan gum go up less, about 1.25×, or they'll taste too strong or turn gummy.
Conversion table
| 16 oz pint | 24 oz pint |
|---|---|
| 1 cup | 1½ cups |
| ¾ cup | 1 cup + 2 tbsp |
| ½ cup | ¾ cup |
| ⅓ cup | ½ cup |
| ¼ cup | 6 tbsp |
| 2 tbsp | 3 tbsp |
| 1 tbsp | 1½ tbsp |
| 1 scoop protein | 1½ scoops |
Don't scale these 1.5×
- Xanthan or guar gum: 1.25× at most.
- Salt, extracts and spices: 1.25×, then taste.
- Mix-ins: same amount or a little more. They're on top, not in the base.
- Alcohol: never more than 3 tbsp in a 24 oz pint.
Weigh it
A scale makes scaling exact: weigh your 16 oz base once, multiply by 1.5, done. It also keeps protein numbers honest.
Questions
Can I make a 16 oz recipe in a 24 oz pint without scaling?
Yes, it just makes a shorter pint. Spin works fine as long as the base is frozen flat.
